Reading log, 1984

The book that I have now started reading is 1984 by george Orwell. The book starts of slow with it describing Wilbur and the society he lives in. It talks about how everyone is watched by Big Brother and that even the smallest impure thought against Big Brother will get u arrested under the context of think crime.

The beginning of the book just shows how dark the society is and how everyone is so fearful of being watched. It has talked a little about Wilbur but not much. SO far the only thing I know for sure is that he has a disease that hurts his legs.

Do you think 1984 in an interesting book? I've heard from some people its a really good book to read but I've also heard it's kind of lame. What are you're thoughts on it?

The book 1984 is different from all other books that I have read. It is a very slow book. It does not have much action in it throught the entire time except in a few areas that make you sayin "wait, what just happend?". If you are looking for a fast pace book then this isn't the place to look. On the other hand, if your looking ofr a book that makes you think and question our soceiety and the future of it, then your in the right place. After about the middle of the book it shows you what some people think future society is going to be like. It shows you how it could be possible to control people by controlling their thought and theri beliefs. So if your into scary, military society, the world will be conquered by the ideas of marxisism, then this is the book for you.
